Where to Park

Kure Beach offers a mix of paid street and public parking lots for easy access to local landmarks. Toward the northern end of the island, there is public parking on N Avenue with 10 designated spaces and one handicapped spot. Street parking is available one block down off M Avenue. Atlantic Avenue, just north of Ocean Front Park, has 11 street parking spots and two handicapped spaces. Several other designated street parking spaces are available further down Atlantic Avenue and off K Avenue, near the Kure Beach Fishing Pier. A larger parking lot on the west side of E Avenue has 29 spaces, and another lot on the beach side offers 11 spaces with public beach access.

Free and Special Permit Parking

Anyone with a valid handicap placard or license plate can park for free in any designated handicap space. Convenient locations include spaces near E, K and L Avenues, where accessible ramps offer easy beachfront access. Additionally, Purple Heart recipients with a valid Purple Heart license plate may park for free in any marked space.

On Sundays, free parking is available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at designated locations, including 3rd Avenue (between K and L avenues), 6th Avenue (between I and J Avenues), and the Kure Beach Community Center parking lot.
